About Us

Serena Wong, M.A., M.E.

Serena Wong is a clinical psychology doctoral candidate at Bowling Green State University. Her dissertation research involves cultivating sacred moments to foster wellbeing. This project has received support from the American Psychological Association Division 36, Larry J. Nulton Clinical Psychology Research Award, and the BGSU Katzner Graduate Research Award. Under the mentorship of Kenneth I. Pargament, Ph.D., she has been involved with projects related to spiritual competency training in mental health, spiritual struggles, and human wholeness. She also obtained an M.E. in Educational Counseling from the University of Southern California, and was a recipient of the Virginia G. Olson Endowed Scholarship. As a therapist, she is trained in spiritually integrated psychotherapy and third wave cognitive behavioral therapies.

Kenneth I. Pargament, Ph.D.

Kenneth I. Pargament is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University. He has published extensively on the role of religion and spirituality in mental health. His work has gained international recognition and he was recently listed as one of the top 50 most influential living psychologists in the world.
